The key to a life changing transformation begins with a dedication from you and a consistent focus to improve the quality of your life. So let’s talk about neuro-associations…
Neuro what now? Let me explain! This kind of goes back to my psychology roots, I studied this at university and only now I am starting to realise how useful this would have been, had I actually applied the knowledge..!
Neuro-Associations are the links between thoughts and emotions in your brain. Everything we experience can be defined as positive or negative to some extent, either we experience significant levels of pleasure associated to something, or significant levels of pain. Now CHANGE will only happen when the potential pleasure outweighs the pain.
“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one”- Albert Einstein
Neural pathways have been created linking the nervous system to certain situations. If you are stressed by something, it is not due to thing the thing itself, but rather your estimate of it. By interrupting this pattern we can alter our beliefs and condition ourselves to associate things in a way that empowers us rather than disempowers.
Take public speaking for example, how does the thought of speaking in front of a large audience make you feel? Do you think everyone has the same answer? I used to be terrified at the thought, from past experience I somehow associated public speaking as something to be afraid of (a neuro-association).
At 18 I went to an interview that involved me standing in front of over 100 people and reciting a 4 page spiel. I had to believe that I could do it if I wanted the job so I practised that spiel every day for over a month as many times as it took until I was word perfect. When it came to the assessment day my legs were shaking so much I was surprised that I even managed to stand! But I did it, and after I ended up winning a “spiel off” against other applicants. I felt so proud, and needless to say I changed the neural pathway. I now associated public speaking with success an accomplishment.

I’d really recommend reading ‘Unlimited Power’ and ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins. They’re both inspiring and show you step by step how to make positive changes and master your personal and professional life.
